How To Prepare Your Home “For Sale” (Part 3)

The ABG Areas (Attic, Basement and Garage Areas)
  1. Pack all items you won’t need until after you move and place in storage if possible. This will make your home appear larger to the prospective buyer.
  2. Make sure the ABG areas are well lighted and clutter free
  3. Make sure hand rails throughout the home are secure
  4. Consider painting dark and gloomy areas especially in the basement a lighter color
  5. Organize garden tools and equipment in a storage rack
  6. Remove dust and dirt from fixtures and appliances such as the furnace, water heater, washer and dryer
  7. Install maximum allowable wattage bulbs into light fixtures in the ABG areas
  8. Clean garage and basement floor, remove stains if possible.
  9. Dispose of everything you’re not going to move to your new home.
